The Newburgh Enlarged City School District embarked on this Energy Performance Contract in 2016. The goal of this project was to investigate any and all opportunities for energy savings, while also sizing and identifying opportunities for renewable generation. An additional benefit includes addressing several essential infrastructure upgrades to equipment at the end of its useful life. Upgrades such as full window replacements, boiler upgrades, chiller replacements, and modernization of temperature controls district-wide are being addressed in this project.

School districts are constantly faced with the challenge of maintaining administration spaces, while also maintaining a comfortable learning environment for students. Often times, upgrades to administration spaces are often passed over for more critical needs in education spaces. In this project, Energia assisted the school district with identifying critical upgrades at the BOE administration & public library building. These upgrades included full replacements of windows and conversion of electric hot water boilers to natural-gas fired condensing technology.
